Session Description
During this session, participants will gain a better understanding of how to use Revised Bloom's Taxonomy as a tool to teach and assess the Social Studies Essential Standards. Additionally, participants will explore a draft guiding principles of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Session Objectives
  • Apply the three shifts in the K-12 Social Studies Essential Standards to curriculum alignment strategies
  • Understand how to teach and assess the K-12 Social Studies Essential standards using the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy Table

How do we:
  1. Make the shifts happen in the social studies classroom?
  2. Teach and assess for civic readiness?
  3. Align curriculum, instruction, and assessment to the Essential Standards?
